The Sarnia Sting ended up losing game three to the Saginaw Spirit by a score of 6-1.

Owen Tippett opened the scoring just three minutes into the game with his fourth goal of a playoffs, a snipe from right in the slot that went over the shoulder of Ethan Langevin. Reilly Webb and Justin Murray assisted on the goal.

Ten minutes and forty-five seconds into the first period, Camaryn Baber scored his first goal of the playoffs to make it 2-0 for the Spirit.

The Sting responded with a goal of their own just thirty seconds later, when Justin McCombs jumped on a rebound and buried it in the back of the net to make it 2-1. Anthony Tabak and Nick Grima drew the assists.

After the first period, the Sting were trailing 2-1, but had an 11-9 edge in shots.

The only goal that was scored in the second period was scored by Damien Giroux at the fifteen minute mark of the period. While shorthanded, he stole the puck from Mitch Eliot and scored on the wraparound.

Five minutes into the third period, Justin Murray scored Saginaw's second shorthanded goal of the night after receiving a nice pass from Brady Gilmour and burying the wrist shot.

Saginaw would score their third shorthanded goal of the night as Reagan O'Grady scores on a one-timer, assisted by Camaryn Baber. Baber was in the corner and had three Sting players on him, and then passed it to O'Grady who was all alone in the front of the net to score to make it 5-1.

Colton Kammerer tried to get the Sting going when he got into a fight with Justin Murray, but it did not help too much as the Spirit added another goal only a minute later, as Jake Goldowski gets his first of the playoffs. Brady Gilmour and Hayden Davis assisted on the power play goal.

Ivan Prosvetov stopped 34/35 shots in the game three win. Ethan Langevin got the start for the Sting. He allowed four goals on twenty-four shots before being pulled in the third period in favour of Cameron Labour. Against his old team, Lamour let in two goals on seven shots.

Game four is back in Sarnia on Thursday night as the Sting look to avoid the sweep.
