R1 G2 at Saginaw Preview (Mar. 23/19)
The Sarnia Sting will be looking to replicate their start from the first period of game one of the series on Thursday as they look to tie up this series tonight.

In case you missed it, the Sting scored two goals in the first period of Thursday night's game, and went into the first intermission leading 2-0 and outshooting Saginaw 14-2. They ended up losing the game 6-3, but that first period was very impressive. The Sting played well physically and offensively, and kept the Spirit off of their game for the entire first period and a lot of the second and third periods. They need to replicate that performance for a full sixty minutes tonight if they want to win. The Sting have the offensive firepower, but they need to convert on it more, as they went 0/5 on the power play in game one.
Some players to watch on Sarnia today in game two are Hugo Leufvenius, Franco Sproviero, and Jamieson Rees. Leufvenius scored both of Sarnia's goals in the first period of game one as well as an assist on the third goal. He uses his size to his advantage, and has a scoring touch to go along with it, scoring 37 goals in the regular season. Overager Sproviero tallied three assists in game one. He had a breakout year this year, scoring 60 points this season, a career-high, in 64 games played. Jamieson Rees did not find the scoresheet, but he is a very skilled player who can do some damage when he is given the puck. He is not scared to be physical and can throw some big hits from time to time, although he is not always clean, as on Family Day he broke Cole Coskey's jaw and received and eight-game suspension.
Saginaw has their fair share of dangerous players as well. Owen Tippett, who scored two goals in game one and added an assist, is a very dynamic scorer and has a great shot. If Sarnia can shut him down then they have a much better chance at winning tonight's game. Ryan McLeod, who along with Tippett was acquired from Mississauga at the trade deadline, had two assists last game and is also a very good offensive player. He is dangerous with the puck and it should be one of Sarnia's top priorities to stop him from getting near a scoring area. Cole Perfetti is a sixteen-year old who has been a very good player all season long. He and Bode Wilde both had a goal and an assist in game one.
Puck drop is set for 7:05pm at the Dow Event Center in Saginaw.
