Sarnia at Flint Preview (Mar. 16/19)

Mar 16, 2019
1 min read

After a big win last night to clinch a playoff spot, the Sarnia Sting are looking to add to their win total with a home-and-home series against the Flint Firebirds. The Sting are 27-32-5-2 and are seventh place in the Western Conference. The Firebirds are tenth in the Western Conference with a record of 15-45-6-0.

In head to head matchups this season, the Sting are 4-2-0-0 against the Firebirds, who hold a 2-3-1-0 record. Flint has been doing a lot better lately, going 5-3-2-0 in their last ten games.

Assist Leaders: Sarnia Sting

  1. Ryan McGregor: 51

  2. Hugo Leufvenius: 42

  3. Franco Sproviero: 37

  4. Mitch Eliot: 37

  5. Sean Josling: 30

Assist Leaders: Flint Firebirds

  1. Ty Dellandrea: 39

  2. Ethan Keppen: 28

  3. Riley McCourt: 26

  4. Vladislav Kolyachonok: 25

  5. Cody Morgan: 24

This game is not very important standings-wise, as the Sting have clinched a playoff spot but are unable to move up or down in the standings, and Kingston clinched the first overall pick, and Flint has no chance to pass anyone in the standings. It would not be surprising if Sarnia were to sit some of their better players in order to allow them to rest for the playoffs.
