The Sarnia Sting kick off their second back-to-back in the past two weekends with a matchup against the Windsor Spitfires.the 21-28-3-3 Windsor Spitfires, who are in eighth place, and are five points back of the Sting. The bottom half of the Western Conference is very close, so this home-and-home series and the game on Monday will be very important in determining the standings and playoff positioning.

In the season series between these two teams, the Sting have a 2-1-0-0 record over the 1-1-1-0 Spitfires. The Sting lost their first game 5-2, but then rebounded and won the next two 5-4 and 5-1. Over the past five years in games in Windsor, the Sting hold a 11-2-1-0 record against the Spits.

Sarnia has had a lot more offensive output this season than Windsor. Hugo Leufvenius (62), Ryan McGregor (58), Franco Sproviero (50), and Jacob Perreault (48) all have more points than Windsor's leading scorer, Daniel D'Amico, who has 21 goals and 23 assists for 44 points. That would put D'Amico in fourth in Sting scoring if he played for Sarnia. Mitch Eliot and Cole Purboo both have 43 points.

The Spitfires have lost their last five games, against Sudbury, Owen Sound, Saginaw, Erie, and Mississauga. The Sting have dropped their last two contest to Kitchener and Guelph, so both teams are looking to turn things around tonight. Windsor is 14-11-1-0 at home, and Sarnia is only 9-15-3-1 away from home, so this will be a tougher matchup for the Sting tonight. The puck will drop at 7:05pm in the WFCU Centre in Windsor tonight.
