Sting Calm Storm in Big Win
The Sarnia Sting came into Guelph expecting to play a very skilled Guelph team, and that it would be a very close game and they would have a tough time winning. That was not exactly the case last night, as Sarnia came into Guelph and won 6-2 against a very strong Storm team.

Nick Grima opened the scoring after almost fifteen minutes of play in the first period, his third goal of the season, a one-timer from the high slot that found a way through some traffic in front of the net.
Despite Sarnia having scored the only goal in the first period, they were not ahead in the shots, as Guelph had doubled them up, 12-6.
Nate Schnarr tied things up four and a half minutes into the second period with his 26th goal of the season. Markus Phillips and Alexey Toropchenko drew the assists.
Jamieson Rees gave the Sting their second lead of the game four minutes after Schnarr's goal, Rees' tenth of the season. Assisting on the goal was Franco Sproviero and Jacob Perreault.
Just under thirty seconds later, Justin McCombs makes it 3-1 for the Sting with his third goal of the season after capitalizing on a turnover by Guelph right in front of their own net.
Two minutes later, Hugo Leufvenius scores his 31st goal of the season on the power play to make it 4-1 for the Sting. Perreault and Rees had the helpers.
Only seventeen seconds after Leufvenius' goal, Brayden Guy scores his 17th of the season to extend Sarnia's lead to 5-1! Anthony Tabak and Grima had the assists. This assist was Tabak's first point since joining the Sarnia Sting in a trade with Sudbury.
Over a minute later, Toropchenko scores his 14th goal of the year, which would make it 5-2 for the Sting. Fedor Gordeev and Liam Hawel had the assists.
After an action-packed second period that saw the Sting and Storm combine for six goals, Sarnia had the edge, 5-2. Guelph had the lead in shots, 28-21.
Sarnia only had four shots in the third period, but they converted on one of them, with Sean Josling scoring his 14th goal of the season after finishing off a nice passing play with Sproviero and Tabak.
Anthony Popovich started for Guelph, and let in four goals on seventeen shots and was pulled midway through the second period. Nico Daws came in to finish off the game, and allowed two goals on eight shots. Cameron Lamour started for the Sting and saved 36/38 shots. There was an incident early in the second period, as Lamour threw up in his crease and then went off to the dressing room. Ethan Langevin played for the next fifty-nine seconds and only had to face one shot before Lamour came back.
These two teams play again on Saturday night at 7:05 in Sarnia to finish off their back-to-back.
