The Sarnia Sting had their third game of their four-game road trip this afternoon in North Bay. They needed a win, and came up big with a late comeback.

Brandon Coe opened the scoring for North Bay with his 11th goal of the season, scored eight minutes and nine seconds into the first period. Mason Primeau and Harrison Caines had the assists.

Curtis Egert tied things up just a minute and five seconds later, his 12th goal of the season. Justin McCombs and Marko Jakovljevic drew the assists.

The first period would end at a 1-1 stalemate. The Sting were leading in shots, 11-7.

Hugo Leufvenius gave the Sting their first lead of the game ten minutes into the second period with his 29th goal of the year, with Mitch Eliot and Ryan McGregor drawing the assists.

Before the clock would run out in the second period, the Battalion tied up the game with Simon Rose scoring his third goal of the season. Luke Moncada had the lone helper.

Just like the first period, the second period ended in a tie. North Bay took the lead in shots, 21-20.

Justin Brazeau, who is second in the OHL in goals behind 53-goal scorer Tye Felhaber, scored his 45th goal of the season to give the Battalion a 3-2 lead. Luke Burghardt and Matthew Struhters had the assists.

With just over five minutes to play in the third period, North Bay extended their lead to 4-2 when Harrison Caines scored his fifth goal of the year.

Sarnia had quite the challenge ahead of them. They were down by two goals, with five minutes to play in the game. On the power play, the Sting were in front of the North Bay net, and Jacob Perreault corralled a rebound and put it home for his 25th of the season to bring the Sting to within one goal with two minutes and forty seconds to play. Jamieson Rees and Leufvenius had the assists.

With only a minute to play, Nick Grima had the puck at the blue line and passed it over to Eliot, who one-timed it to tie the game at four goals each. That was Eliot's 14th goal of the season.

This game would not be decided in the final minute, so Sarnia and North Bay would have to go to overtime to solve this game. At the three-minute mark of overtime, Leufvenius came down the right wing on a two-one one. He tried to pass the puck to McGregor, but it deflected off of Christian Propp's pads and went into the net, giving the Sting the win! That goal was Hugo's second of the game and 30th of the season, with McGregor getting the assist.

Christian Propp got the start in goal for North Bay, and allowed five goals on 37 shots in the loss. Ethan Langevin started for the Sting, and turned aside 29/33 shots for the victory.

This win propels Sarnia into sixth place in the Western Conference. They are two points ahead of seventh place and only one point out of fifth place.

The Sting do not play again until Friday, when they are in Guelph to finish off their road trip.
