Anthony Salinitri Traded to Oshawa
The Sarnia Sting have traded longtime member Anthony Salinitri to the Oshawa Generals in exchange for draft picks.

Sarnia acquires a Sudbury 2019 2nd round pick, an Owen Sound 2020 4th rounder, and a Hamilton 2022 2nd rounder, all from Oshawa.
Heading the other way to the Generals is Anthony Salinitri, who was drafted 17th overall in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, but was then traded after 21 games. Sarnia had to give up current New York Rangers defenceman Anthony DeAngelo to get Salinitri.
In five OHL seasons, Salinitri has played in 270 OHL games, scoring 94 goals and 99 assists for 193 points. With Sarnia, he has played 249 games in the black and yellow, scoring 93 goals and 92 assists for 185 points.
The Windsor native was captain of the Sting in the past two seasons. He was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the sixth round, 172nd overall, in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. However, he was not offered a contract and is currently an NHL free agent.
Sarnia and Oshawa do not play again in the regular season, so the last shot for any Sting fans to see Salinitri would be in the OHL finals, but only if both teams were to make it.
Thank you Anthony for everything you have done for the Sting over the past five years, and good luck in Oshawa!
